Hope For the Future

About Us

NHCS was founded in September of 2020 as a virtual/remote Learning Center. In September of 2021, NHCS moved to 525 1st Avenue, in South Charleston where we lease space for our classrooms. It is our hope to eventually expand to a bigger facility if the Lord is willing. Right now, we have room for twelve students in levels 1-6, fourteen students in levels 7-12, and five Pre-K or Kindergarten students depending on which ages we have in the coming term.

Our Mission and Vision Statement

Our mission at New Hope Christian School is to instruct your student academically with a Biblical worldview. It is our goal that students can be protected from a daily onslaught of worldly and Satanic influence by learning what God has to say about it first. This Biblical training equips a student to live in the world but not become part of it. We are not a church and do not attempt to take the place of your church. We are not the parents of our students, and do not attempt to take the place of parents. We are teachers, and hope to teach what we know, have learned, and have experienced, using the Word of God as our guide.

Statement of Faith

1.) We believe the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God and that His Word has been preserved for future generations in the Authorized Version of the King James Bible. As such, the Bible is inerrant, without mistakes, and reveals to us the mind of God and His perfect plan of salvation.

2.) We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three distinct persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, having the precise same nature, attributes, and perfections, and equally worthy of the same honor, confidence, worship, and obedience.

3.) We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His position as the sole mediator between God and man, and in His personal return in power and glory.

4.) We believe that man was originally created in the image and after the likeness of God and that he fell through sin, in consequence eternally separating mankind from a righteous and holy God. Being fallen, man is “dead in trespasses and sins” and is subject to the reign of sin and the power of Satan. Only through the reconciliatory work of Jesus Christ can man be brought back into fellowship with God and rescued from His wrath through spiritual regeneration.

5.) We believe that salvation is “by grace through faith” and that it rests solely on the basis of the shed blood of Christ. Salvation cannot be obtained through works, moral living, baptism, or any other ordinance of the church, but only through and by the sacrifice of the only-begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ.

6.) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, after salvation, the Christian is enabled to strive to live a godly life.

7.) We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal damnation.

8.) We believe that the universe originated by the creative act of God as revealed in Holy Scripture, and that the form of every kind of life was fixed at the time of its creation.

9.) We believe that marriage is a sacred institution created by God and that it is a union between one man and one woman who enter into a covenant relationship, complement one another, serve one another, and sanctify one another for as long as they both shall live. We believe the Bible condemns any sexual relationship outside of marriage. As such, we reject any attempt to define marriage as union between people of the same sex or as between more than one man and one woman. We also believe that the homosexual lifestyle and alternative gender identities are abominations according to the Bible.

10.) We believe that human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Therefore, we are called to protect the value of all human life, be it the unborn, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, or any other stage or condition from natural conception through natural death.

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of New Hope Christian School’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our sending church is the final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
